The car I bought with my ex is being threatened with repossession. He is dodging me. What can I do?

I have left him numerous voice mails and text messages on his phone and his current girlfriend’s phone. I have called all of our mutual friends and asked them to tell him to call me. I have left notes on the front door of his mother’s house. I am trying to get a hold of the vehicle so that I can make the payments on it and get it refinanced in my own name. He has told me before that he was working on getting it refinanced in his name but that is obviously not the case. The lien holder said that if they send a repossession company to find the vehicle I will have to pay a lot of money to get it back and still face having a repossession on my credit. I have been told that I can get a key made and just drive the car away if I find it or I can have it towed but I can’t find this man to save my life and he will not return any form of communication attempt. What are my rights? Should I file a report with the sheriff’s department and maybe they will be able to find him or will I have to hire a private investigator or what? I am almost 6 months pregnant and this stress is not good for me at all.

How can you build up your credit after a repossession?

I know a repossession has a negative affect on your credit score, but can you request a lesser penalty on your credit report from the credit union? I just learned about charge-offs, is that better or worse on your credit score than a repossession? My boyfriend got a repossession recently and we are going to work to build up his credit in the next couple years so we can get married and hopefully purchase a house or condo. What would be the best way to raise his score in the next 18-24 months. I know the repossession will probably be on his credit for at least 5 years but is there anything we can do to better our chances to get qualified for home loan?

this man came over to my friends house today with a tow truck and said that his dad is voluntary repossession our car and he doesnt want to return it because he wasnt from toyota. and then he said he would call the police then drove off and hid in a street a couple blocks away.he said hes going to “called the police” but they never showed up.
then his dad told the guy with the tow truck to tell toyota to call him and some other guy called him and siad he was from toyota
his dad said to read his pin or something to verify he was from toyota and got it wrong.

i have lived in my house for over 20 years, i own a 1/4 of it and rent the other 3/4s from the housing association. when i was out of work i struggled to keep up the payments on my rent. i have been to court twice already this year and now repossession is very like. the last time i went to court i was told that my contract was well out of date and has never been renewed. am i right in thinking that if the contract is out of date, the information stated in the contract cannot be used, therefore excluding repossession, amount of rent to be paid etc etc? any help is much appreciated, thanks

I have two auto loans that are two months behind in payments. One lender is threatening repossession.?

I do not have a house to get a home equity loan. I don’t know WHAT to do! What can I do? Who can I call to prevent me and my baby from walking and making my poor credit even worse? PLEASE HELP!

Car repossession moral dilemma?

Brother in law came out to hang for the holidays. He got laid off and has fallen behind on his truck payments and fears repossession so he wants to keep it at our house and use my wifes car til he gets caught up again. He lives in another state and figures they would never find it here. Anyways he faithfully paid on the truck for three years before getting laid off and knows he would lose all those payments if they repo’d leaving him at square one again. I feel if not loaning him the cash to get out of the hole the least we can do is keep the truck safe while he hashes out things with creditors. What do u think

I paid all other negative items that were on my credit in Jan.09. This is the only thing that is affecting me. I would like to know can I still by a house in 2010?

Car Repossession question (short and sweet)?

I co-signed on a car loan with my dad. My dad had the car, he was the primary. The car was repossessed. Now a year later my wife and I want to buy a house but the repossession obviously looks bad on my credit. He still owes about $5,000 to the bank.

What do I do? Do I pay the $5,000? How can I take this off of my credit? Will it hurt my chance for getting a house loan because I was technically only the co-signer.
Ok people, I did this as a favor to my Dad, I never thought this man would purposely, yes purposely let this happen because he didn’t like my wife. He did it to “ruin our lives” I don’t need a lecture, I need helpful advice, so if you don’t have helpful advice, shut up and don’t answer.

my neighbours are facing repossession. How could i help them pay their mortgage ?

if i were to pay towards their mortgage, what could i do to make sure i didn’t lose my money? could i own a percentage of their house (til they payed me back) and could i make it impossible to take out any other loans secured on the house (which would make it higher risk)
